      FAQs

      1. What is the average age of those on these trips?
We find it's a real mix of ages - 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s and even 70s! Our sales team can give the approximate age range of anybody booked onto each departure before you book.
      2. Can our teen boys age 14 and 16 join?
Currently the minimum age of our cycling trips is 16, travelling with an adult over the age of 18. We do have many family trips though, which are generally very active, and several include a day of cycling along with other activities. These may suit you very well!
      3. What type of cyclist is on the trip?
We welcome everyone, from occasional and commuter cyclists to those who ride several times a week. Our grading system helps you find the right trip intensity for you.
      4. Are there e-bikes available?
E-bikes are available on most trips for an additional cost, across Europe and many other destinations worldwide. For this event, we offer e-bikes in Portugal and Vietnam, but not for the Central America tour.
      5. For e-bikes do you need any prior training? Also, is it possible to switch to e-bike during the trip (or vice versa), or do you have to commit to one bike type prior to trip?
No worries—if you can ride a regular bike, you can ride an e-bike! You’ll need to request an e-bike at the time of booking, as availability is limited and there is a small additional cost. Please note that once the tour begins, you won’t be able to switch to an e-bike spontaneously, as they must be booked in advance.
      6. Is there a support vehicle?
Yes, on all our tours, though seating is limited on some, including in Portugal.
      7. What happens if I get stuck?
If you run out of energy, the support vehicle is always available for you to hop on. Alternatively, the tour leader can help you find a way to get ahead to the next stop or take an easier route if possible.
      8. Is there a pannier?
Generally, yes—but please check the bike details on the trip webpage for specific information.
      9. Can I fit my own pedals?
Generally, yes—but please check the bike details on the trip webpage for specific information.
      10. Is it a step through bike?
We generally allocate male and female bike frames accordingly unless a specific request is made. However, in some cases, only unisex or male frames may be available, and we will specify this on the website.
      11. Can I travel on the support vehicle if I get tired?
      Yes, you can.
      12. Do I take my own helmet? Can I hire one?
Yes, please bring your own helmet. We don’t offer helmet rentals as we can't guarantee their quality or hygiene and want to ensure you have the right fit. If you're on a longer trip, you might consider purchasing a helmet on the first day, depending on your destination. We recommend highlighting this at the time of booking.
      13. Are there new cycle trips forthcoming?
Yes, the team are currently working on some new cycling trips. We can’t name any specific places yet but watch this space (and sign up to our emails) to be the first to know.
      14. Are there any blogs I could read as a first timer?
Yes - you can check out our blog here
